Heliskiing and skitouring

Finhaut is the perfect starting point for numerous backcountry skitouring itineraries. IFMGA certified mountain guide Edward Bekker, living on site, is happy to advice and accompany you on your skitouring trips.

If you like to take altitude more quickly and you are accompanied by a mountain guide, from Finhaut the helicopter can pick you up and drop you at the 3170m Col du Pissoir, from where you can enjoy a wonderful almost 2000m off piste descent.

Within 20 minutes by car you can reach the famous Les Grands Montets domain in Argentière / Chamonix, world famous by freeriders. The Verbier can be reached within 40 minutes by cable car.

Snowshoeing and cross country skiing

The Vallée du Trient has many snowshoeing itineraries. We can help you finding your hiking guide and equipment rental is available on-site.

Cross country skiing is possible in the nearby villages (10 minutes by car) of Trient and Vallorcine.

Equestrian sports

Did you ever tried skijøring? Our Icelandic horses living on site love cantering through powder snow and pull you on skis. An unforgettable experience!

Experienced horsebackriders can try the typical extra gait called tölt and kids can ride the horses in the mountains with views on Mont Blanc and its glaciers.

Hiking and trailrunning

In summer and not to forget autumn, Finhaut is a hiking paradise. Many well sign-posted itineries from easy to hard can be made from our chalet. The Mont Blanc express and bus service to Emosson dam is always there to broaden your hiking area. We are happy to advice you.

For guests hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc we offer a free of charge shuttle between Finhaut and the Col de la Forclaz / Trient.

Road cycling and mountain biking

On July 20, 2016, the 14th Tour de France stage will visit Finhaut and end at the Emosson dam.

The 11 km climb covering almost 1000 altitude meters is a challenging climb with views on the Mont Blanc and its glaciers. But from Finhaut many more cycling routes in Valais can be made. A mountainbike itinery starts from our chalet.
